What is a PET bottle preform mould?
PET preforms are test-tube-shaped pieces of plastic that are made from a plastic called PET in a process called injection moulding.
Meanwhile, a mould is a formed hollow metal piece used to control the shape of the part being moulded. The mould is filled with molten plastic under pressure, then cools and hardens, keeping the shape of the mould.
Therefore, the PET preform mould is the mould (tool) used to make the PET preforms.
Then, the preform will be reheated and compressed air forced into it to expand it into the entire shape of the bottle (or container). The process is called stretch blow moulding.
